We are family owned and operated business in beautiful Aotearoa. We’re originally from Sri Lanka, where tea is more than a drink — it’s a ritual that brings people together. As life became busier and louder, we found ourselves craving those quiet moments again. Not just better tea, but better pauses.

So we created Smitea as a way to slow down — gently, intentionally, every day. What started in our kitchen has now found its way into homes, offices, stores and cafés around the world, but the intention remains the same: to make slowing down simple.
